Any of these knives can be made to fit a
modest budget, but with family crests,
gold
work & fancy mountings, the price
can
quickly escalate. I do these knives in ATS 34 or Damascus steel
and they do look pretty, but the single
most
important feature is (as in all of
my knives)
one that you cannot see--namely, the
blade
quality. It does not matter if I know
that
a knife will never be used, I do not
compromise
on blade quality. The careful attention
to
forging and heat-treating that goes
into
a piece is the same for one that is
to grace
a collection showcase as for one that
is
destined for an elephant hunt in Africa
where
"show" is fine, but it had
better
cut and hold an edge. |
